the niu Fender

Great location, next to a quiet marina but only 10 minutes walk from the tram which took you to the centre of Amsterdam. Amazing views from the room and lovely comfortable beds, best night's sleep I have had in a long time. Great size bathroom with a nice shower. The Bluetooth speaker in the room was very cool. The TV was nice and big and had English channels which was a good bonus. The hotel was decorated in a very modern way which was nice. There was a good bar/cafe downstairs. If you were happy to have only basic housekeeping, you could put a sign on the door and they would give you a voucher for a free drink as a reward. Luggage was stored for free when we arrived earlier than check in. Reception had a little cart where you could buy snacks and a few souvenirs. There were also little free treats at reception such as mints and water dispensers, and little chocolate eggs as we went at Easter. Staff were really helpful and friendly, and when there was a slight issue with our room we were given 2 free beers as a good-will gesture, which shows the standard of service. The hotel itself was very quiet and the rooms had plenty of storage space and useful items like a magnifying mirror and a hairdryer. We would definitely return here.

We really liked this hotel. The breakfast buffet was extensive, fresh and tasty. The facilites were very modern and green. The neighborhood was very safe and the nearby harbor was lovely. The shower worked great. Elevators in the building were fast. We were able to skip the room cleaning and receive one beverage coupon each day.

I can't say enough about the niu Fender. It had an intimate feel. EVERYONE was friendly and helpful. We actually found ourselves in ISTANBUL the first night (surprise!) because of airline woes leaving the States, and missed our first night, but they held our rooms ❤️ The building and our rooms were beautiful and clean. We LOVED being on the canal and having a bird's eye view of it. The two outdoor restaurants located behind the niu Fender on the canal were excellent with a wonderful ambience. We spent a lot of time in Centrum during our stay in Amsterdam, but the Oost District, where the Niu Fender is located, was a welcome escape from the energetic city center. We rented bikes for our stay. You can rent them from the niu Fender (but make a reservation ahead of time) or go to a shop about a mile away. Within a mile we rode to great food, coffee, and a fantastic gym to start our day, then biked to and around Centrum along with everyone else! What a great way to experience Amsterdam; like the locals. And the niu Fender is close enough to it all. Thank you, niu Fender. We'll be back!

Location perfect, need to re-access the directions from the nearest station - there was a different bus available N22(?) from Mollukenstraat, which one uses to Centraal Station. Whereas the Flevopark tram is the route Bookings.com described! Spacious rooms with good bathroom layout

Nice, quiet rooms and nice area. Public transport is close enough. Friendly stuff.
